കലാചരിത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദമുള്ള അമൽ, ചിത്രകാരനും പുതുതലമുറയിലെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായ കഥാകൃത്തുമാണു്. ഞങ്ങൾക്കു് അമൽ അയച്ചു തന്നതു് ഒരു ഗ്രാഫിക് കഥയാണു്, വരയിലും വരിയിലും പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ ‘ഖസാക്ക് അനുഭവം’ പ്രശസ്തമായ നോവലിന്റെ പല ഓർമ്മകളും കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു. നോവലിന്റെ കഥയിലും കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളിലും തെന്നി നീങ്ങുന്ന ചിത്രമെഴുത്തിൽ വിജയനും കഥാപാത്രമാവുന്നു.
ഗ്രാഫിക് കഥകളുടെ ഫലവത്തായ ഒരു തുടർച്ച നമ്മുടെ ഭാഷയിൽ ഇപ്പോഴും അത്ര പ്രകടമല്ല. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ, അത്തരം മുൻകൈകൾ ഇവിടെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നതിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു് സന്തോഷമുണ്ടു്.

തിരുവനന്തപുരം ജില്ലയിലെ പിരപ്പൻകോടു് സ്വദേശി. മാവേലിക്കര രാജാ രവി വർമ ഫൈൻ ആർട്സ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും പെയിന്റിങ്ങിൽ ബിരുദവും, കൊൽക്കത്ത വിശ്വഭാരതി-ശാന്തിനികേതനിൽ നിന്നും കലാ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദവും നേടി. ‘വ്യസനസമുച്ചയം’ എന്ന നോവലിനു് 2018-ലെ കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി യുവ പുരസ്കാരവും ബഷീർ യുവപ്രതിഭാ പുരസ്കാരവും ലഭിച്ചു. മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി സർവ്വകലാശാലയും, പോണ്ടിച്ചേരി കേന്ദ്രസർവ്വകലാശാലയും വ്യസനസമുച്ചയം പാഠപുസ്തകമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടു്. കൽഹണൻ കെ. സരസ്വതിയമ്മ പുരസ്കാരവും, സിദ്ധാർത്ഥ നോവൽ പുരസ്കാരവും ലഭിച്ചു, ‘പരസ്യക്കാരൻ തെരുവി’നു് 2019-ലെ കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി ഗീതാ ഹിരണ്യൻ എൻഡോവ്മെന്റ് പുരസ്കാരം ലഭിച്ചു.
