കുറ്റിപ്പുറത്തു് കേശവൻ നായരുടെയും വള്ളത്തോൾ അമ്മാളുക്കുട്ടി അമ്മയുടെയും മകനായി 1916-ൽ ജനിച്ചു. 1968-ൽ ഒരു കാറപകടത്തിൽ മരിച്ചു. മലയാളത്തിൽ വളരെയധികം എഴുതീട്ടില്ലെങ്കിലും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ട എഴുത്തുകാരനായിരുന്നു വാസുദേവ മേനോൻ. കേസരി ബാലകൃഷ്ണപിള്ള ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കാളവണ്ടി എന്ന കഥയെപ്പറ്റി ഒരു വിമർശനം എഴുതീട്ടുണ്ടു്.
